Justification

This project was aimed at finding the reason behind the tv show Fringe's addictive properties. Through careful analysis I discovered that what made the show visually and acoustically appealing was because of unanswered questions and dramatic sound. Though one might notice sound in film or tv, because ones attention is focused on the visual, sound emotionally impacts the audience. It actually brings out the projected emotion to entice the audience. The unanswered questions allow for the audience to come to their own conclusions, yet since the broader subject remains in question, the audience wants to keep watching. Even if one can formulate the ending, or come to a conclusion, there lies a satisfaction in saying "I called it!"

Shows accomplish this by showing images, discussing topics, or creating themes. These then reoccur, and never seem to come to a close. Even if it seems like the question is answered, odds are it is not, or that another question rises.

Many tv shows, along with Fringe, follow this structure. Yet, Fringe does it to an extreme. Even when creating my videos and podcast, I did not include all of e reoccurring images for it would have been overwhelming. The amazing thing is that this is only about ne episode, and I could not even discuss all of my conclusions I came to.

The question that I had placed for this project, has now been answered. I find that you may agree with me, then again, you may just find something else that explains why Fringe is so assisting to it's audience.
